So this is Jayme...
Needless to say, I had a beautiful subject. Jayme is a natural. She was so relaxed! I truly think she had fun!

"Taking pictures with Kim was a lot of fun! I was able to change many outfits. I liked taking pictures in unique places." Jayme Kelly

"Kim was very accommodating with our schedule. She was open to our ideas along with having many creative and original ideas of her own! There was so many great pictures that my only problem was trying to choose which ones to use!" Tammy Kelly(mom)

So you need a photoshoot...

Things to think about:

What should I wear? When should I get my haircut? How many outfits do I want? Any props? Should I tan? What makes my pictures special?

A few good tips:

1. Choose clothing that is comfortable for you....you will photograph the most natural in these. Plain, solid colors are great, drawing all the attention to you. They also look great in 20 years, not being too trendy. It is fun to have a couple trendy ones though, just to capture who you are today!
2. Don't get a haircut the day before~! Besides the fact that your skin is usually paler under all that hair, it just looks better to wait a couple of weeks, so you don't have that fresh cut look. That could be a personal preference though~! Maybe fresh cut IS your favorite look.
3. Watch out for tan lines! They stand out like a sore thumb!
4. Hats... hats are fun. If you are a hat person - be sure and bring some along and we can incorporate those into the session - probably at the end so they don't wreck the hair.
5. If you have a special interest, be sure and mention that. It is great to personalize your photos with things you have spent so much time with. Sports, musical intstruments, arts, cars, animals, anything!
6. 4-6 outfits are average for seniors.
7. Think about your session. To make it special, I need a little insight into your life, to find out just who you are, and how you would like to be portrayed in photos to the rest of the gang!
8. Last but not least, shake off any nerves! This is just one of the first of many crazy days in the life of a senior! Just have fun - imagine you are on vacation having the time of your life! And really....do.

About Me

Kim
I'm Kim ~ and I absolutely love photography...It's fun to capture a moment in time. Probably my short memory is partially responsible for my passion to capture my favorite memories on film. Also, I read somewhere before of a photographer that said "I wouldn't need to lug around a camera if I could tell a good story in words!" Ditto...
